Driveway cleaning cost calculator
Estimate a rough driveway cleaning price before you request quotes.
This free calculator turns the main cost drivers into a practical range: size, surface type, staining, and aftercare. It helps you prepare a better brief; it does not guarantee what any provider will charge.

Rough driveway cleaning cost range
Use this as a scoping guide, not a fixed quote. Photos, access, drainage, staining, and aftercare can change the final provider price.
Estimated range
£215-£335
Based on about 45m2, block paving, moss, weeds, or slippery patches, and re-sanding likely.
Methodology · reviewed 15 October 2026
How this planning range is built
For the current selection, the model uses the larger of £95 or 45m² × £3.20/m² × 1.20 surface factor × 1.25 condition factor + £45 aftercare allowance. It then applies a 0.82-1.28 range and rounds each end to the nearest £5.
The coefficients are WashMerit editorial scoping assumptions. We reviewed the formula and all available input combinations on 15 October 2026, but the model has not been calibrated against accepted WashMerit provider quotes or a verified live-quote dataset. The output is not a market average, fixed quote, or provider offer.
Not included automatically: regional or provider-specific pricing, travel, VAT, unusual setup or water access, extra drainage controls, repairs, specialist stain treatment, sealing products, or provider availability.
What changes the price
Can the provider show similar surface examples, not just generic before-and-after photos?
Will block paving need re-sanding, weed treatment, or sealing after cleaning?
How will runoff, drains, plants, and nearby public access be protected?
Are oil stains, black spot, or deep weeds included, excluded, or priced separately?
Treat the range as a planning signal. A provider still needs photos, access notes, water/drainage details, and stain context before giving a serious quote.
Compare hard-surface quotes fairly
Before accepting the cheapest quote, make sure the scope matches.
Driveway, patio, block-paving, and pressure-washing quotes can look similar while covering different proof, stain, runoff, and aftercare assumptions. Use these checks to compare like for like before requesting a shortlist.
Same-surface proof
Ask for examples from the same material and staining level, not just generic before-and-after photos.
Stain and exclusion wording
Confirm whether oil, black spot, rust, weeds, deep moss, or failed sealant are included, excluded, or priced separately.
Runoff and access controls
Check how water, debris, drains, plants, neighbours, parked cars, pets, and public paths will be protected.
Aftercare boundaries
Separate washing from re-sanding, sealing, chemical treatment, disposal, and any follow-up visit before comparing prices.
Provider photos, prices, reviews, and method claims are still provider-supplied unless WashMerit has separately reviewed the evidence. The checklist helps gather better inputs; it does not guarantee outcome, availability, or verified status.
From price research to shortlist brief
Carry the assumptions into the shortlist, not just the estimate.
Cost guides and calculators are only useful if the assumptions travel with the enquiry. Use the estimate or checklist as a starting point. Providers still need the surface, size, staining, access, drainage, aftercare, photos, and proof questions before they can give a serious driveway-cleaning quote. WashMerit uses those details to narrow the brief to 2 to 3 likely-fit providers without treating price as a guarantee.
Start a quote with these detailsInclude these notes:
- Driveway size band, surface type, and whether block paving needs re-sanding or sealing.
- Photos of staining, weeds, oil, black spot, drains, nearby plants, and public access points.
- Access, parking, water supply, runoff route, and any aftercare or proof questions to confirm.
